Are you looking for a special vehicle or a recreational vehicle? CustomizedSolution from Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles has the solution for you. And that’s not all the division has to offer.

For almost fifty years, we have offered customized conversions on the basis of the Crafter, Caddy, Transporter and Amarok, which we either carry out ourselves or in conjunction with our converter partners for commercial, official and private customers.

Our work creates the foundation for exploiting the full potential for conversions in each specific market. In addition, we develop and implement new processes for all the relevant distribution channels.

We work together closely with a range of expert converters. We initiate and implement specific fundamentals and setups for these manufacturers, and we develop long-term vehicle offers based on Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles derivatives.

In internal and external committees – product management, product marketing, NE technical conversation, converter association conferences, industry trade fairs, sales events etc. – CustomizedSolution represents the interests of the market, customers and sales departments.

When it comes to specific offers for fleet customers and public authorities, we develop these and provide help in putting them into practice in coordination with the Sales department at Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles. And, last but not least, we provide technical support for our customers and converters.

CustomizedSolution focuses on customers, so easy processing for trade and customers is essential. You tell us what you want from your customized vehicle, and we provide you with an individual vehicle solution. If there is no suitable solution in our in-house portfolio, you have the option of putting your wishes into practice with one of our many external partners. We place great importance on quality and safety: all the advertised conversions have passed a safety assessment test (LONO) from Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles. In addition, our partners work together closely with us.
 

There are two types of partner: IntegratedPartners meet firmly defined requirements in the areas of sales, marketing and after sales. Our PremiumPartners are selected specialists in their respective fields and have also been audited on site by Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles in terms of the requirements for IntegratedPartners, in accordance with the criteria of converter management.

Training.

We help our partners to label your vehicles in accordance with the consumption and exhaust measurement data of the WLTP.

WISA.

The WISA workshop information system ensures rapid assistance via the Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles service network in the event of damage. This keeps professionals mobile.

Our history.

From customer workshop to competence centre.

There is a long tradition at Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles of tailoring to customer needs: It all started back in 1970 with the customer workshop, which had three key tasks: 

  • Vehicle collection for self-collectors of commercial vehicles and for works employees
  • Maintenance and repairs of company cars
  • Safeguarding optional equipment on commercial vehicles


In 1996, special vehicle construction was set up, which in 1999 became the service centre for special vehicles. In 2006, the B.U.S (special vehicles business unit) was founded as an independent unit of Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles. In parallel to this development, the converter management division was formed to cooperate closely with converters.

In April 2017 it was time: the converter and B.U.S divisions were merged into the new organisational unit CustomizedSolution in order to improve results and offers. With this merger, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles focussed its efforts on three areas:

  • Individual special models such as panel vans, box bodies or tippers ex works
  • Two-invoice solutions with the converter partners
  • Recreational vehicles in the Camper area


Today, the division is a competence centre for converters and customer-specific solutions.
